One of my favorite comics Ralphie May is coming to town for a Feb 18th show.. Just hope I am around to see it. I have seen him once before live, and I never laughed so hard as I did that night. My cheek bones were hurting for a couple of hours after that show. His then girlfriend (now wife Lahna Turner) opened for him and she was pretty darn funny as well.
So I tried the SA 3100 receiver last night… It just set there on the “Please wait….” screen. So I figured a good old three finger salute would do the trick. I turned the receiver off and unplugged it. Left it unplugged for about a minute or so and then plugged it back in. Took forever to actually boot up, but now I can get the Free Movies on Demand on that box too.
It seems that Comcast has finally fixed their FMOD (free movies on demand) in morgantown. I was playing around with the receiver tonight and decided to turn to the channel and the stuff actually comes in now. Although the selection is not that “good” there are a lot on there, and there is also free HD movies on there as well. Just wish I had an HD tv now to watch them. Now if comcast would only get Boomerang on the local line up, I would be happy. Now I wonder if it only works on the DVR receiver or if it works on the others as well. Will have to try it and see.
I have started to look for a new point and shoot digital camera to replace my Nikon 800 that I bought back in 1999. It has been a good P&S, but I am wanting something a little smaller. I still use this one and it makes great pictures (even if they are only 2 megapixels).
So to all you who read this, if you have a point and shoot digital camera that you absolutely love (or have one that you use as a back up for a DSLR) please leave a comment with the make/model and what you like and don’t like about it.
Even though I am pretty set on Nikon DSLR’s, i can go any way with a P&S… My only requirements are that it must be small enough to fit in my pocket and have a decent battery life. Secondary requirements would be that it have a good optical zoom and fast power to shot.
So far, I have been looking at a Fuji F50fd. Megapixels does not really matter that much as long as it is over 6. Picture quality should be good. Also if you have pictures you have taken with it and they are on the Interweb some place, post a link if they are public.
I was going through the pictures on my phone and found some from when I was over seas.
The first one I found was this one:
The store was named “dope” which was right down the street from the “fcuk” store.
The second one was from a Royal Copenhagen store (Amagertorv 6, 1160 København K, Denmark)
The price was 399:- at the time I was there, translates to roughly $78.56USD. Yes that is $78.56 for one tea cup.
The third was of Tivoli Garden’s entrance. Did not get to go in it, but it is like an amusement park and a flower/tree garden all together.
The final picture was of Hans Christian Anderson, some what of an icon there..
