Gas prices

On my recent trip outside of the US. I took this shot of a gas station.

gas sign in denmark

Now if you want to talk about expensive gas, take the above. The 9.29 ;- ( ;- is short for danish krone) is per liter in Danish Krone, so do some math:

1 liter = 0.26 US Gallon
1 US Gallon = 3.78 liters

1 liter = 9.29 ;- == $1.72
1 US Gallon = (3.78 liters * 9.29 ;- ) = 35.1 ;-
35;- = $6.53

Guess this is another reason why a lot of people rode bicycles there. While in Sweden I saw one place that had gas for 11.50 :- (:- is short for swedish krona), so that is about $6.45 per US gallon. Just be happy it has not reached this price yet in the US.

I am glad as right now to fill up my car completely would be almost $100 if I had it over there.

I saw that Eudora has become Mozilla Eudora 8.0.0 Beta 1: Project Penelope. Downloaded it for my mac just to see if it looked like the old eudora.. Well might as well not waste your time. If you already use Thunderbird, you already are using “Penelope”. From what I can see, it looks like they just changed some icons and then did a sed on the source code of .,$s/thunderbird/eudora/g

Wonder if this is where thunderbird is going to? or why they even tried to keep eudora around. It was big back in the 90’s. but once it went pay/ad supported I have never recommended people use it, and just put thunderbird on peoples machines.

Our job sucks

I saw a truck on the way to my parents house today. It was a honey wagon and in big letters on the back of it, there was this:

Our job SUCKS, and we guarantee it

On my way to my parents house yesterday, they asked me to pick up some dog food at the local Wal-Mart (which I have not been in months, because I personally don’t like going in there). Anyways, I had picked up the dog food and a candybar. So I went to the “Express Lane: 10 items or less”. There was a person in front of me with at least half a cart full of stuff. Why do people not pay attention to the sign that says “10 items or less”? What really makes me made is that the cashier did not say anything to the woman. I have been to stores in the past that if some one came with too many items the cashier would tell them to please go to another line. But it seems that walmart does not really care. So why don’t they just take down the “Express Lane: 10 items or less” sign and make it like a regular register?

So if you have more than 10 items, pick another lane… If you can’t count, if you have more items in your cart than you can count on your two hands then you need to go to another lane.
