Darn Winders XP

November 27th, 2005

For what ever reason my Windows XP machine has decided to be a pain in the a$$ today. (Yes I have a windows machine, the Gimp just does not cut it for me and photo editing.. I have to have Adobe PhotoShop and Premiere).. Anyways, going on about 5 hours of trying to figure out what is going on. It all started last night when I tried to turn on the ATI All-In-Wonder TV card to finish watching the WVU vs LSU basketball game, the screen went weird and it rebooted. I did not think anything of it, and just did not watch the game. Well this morning I tried to turn the TV on once again, the the machine just rebooted and when it came back up every time I did anything with the ATI stuff it rebooted. So I did the whole “Windows Update” thing, and then downloaded the new ATI drivers, thinking that would fix it, well no it didn’t. Now everytime I boot the machine it just gives me a black screen with two little yellowish orange dots on it. (I know the machine is fine as Solaris 11 boots and runs great with no problems.) So now I am back to uninstalling all the ATI crap and reinstalling it. If that does not work, then I am going to have to reformat and reinstall, (which is a pain in the butt when you are dealing with Windows and all the darn updates it has to do.)

well back to the machine….
